Introductory Caves

Cave initiation courses always follow the standard routes in a cave where no rope techniques are required. In exceptional cases, the participant must clip their lead rope into a guide rope or be belayed. These exceptions are listed below.

Grotte Sainte-AnneA rope must be attached to the chain, secured at two points, starting approximately 10 meters before the pit and extending approximately 10 meters past it
Trou d’HaquinModderberg: A rope must be put, securely anchored at both ends of the mountain, with an additional 4-meter-long lanyard on the side of the Salle de l’Attente
Nou Moulin 
Trou de l’EgliseThe entrance shaft must be secured, with participants required to follow a guide rope from outside to past the entrance gate and then be secured by a guide all the way to the bottom of the shaft. The guide is secured with the safety line. The “Pas de la mort” must also be secured using a rope that is hauled in by a guide. The guide is secured with the safety line.
